Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing to stay at Morningside Cottage, and I am looking forward to meeting you. Just to remind you that when you make a booking you are entering an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.

Prices: The price includes accommodation plus any board indicated. Unless clearly stated on the booking form all extras such as additional meals, drinks etc are additional. We accept the following forms of payment:
Bank Transfer and cash, unfortunately we are not able to accept payment by cheque or American Express.

Pets: Pets are not permitted. (I have a cat and dog living at Morningside cottage).

Deposit, a non-refundable deposit of £50.00 per room is payable at the time of booking. Please provide your full name address along with your telephone number .The remainder balance must be paid 10 days before arrival.

Cancellation and Insurance: We hope you don't have to but if you do we require 10 days’ notice and if cancelled after this time, we will charge a 100% cancellation fee (unless the room can be resold).

Please note that a reservation is a legally binding contract and we urge you to take out holiday insurance at the time of booking.

Non-availability: We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

Arrival: We work with you but ask you, not to check in before 3.00 pm if you arrive earlier and the room isn't ready you can leave your luggage and collect your key,we can then phone you when the room is available. (I do like to meet you but there are occasions when I may have to ask you to use the key safe).

When arriving by car do not use google maps or sat nav. as this will take you to somewhere there will be no parking. Please stay on Morningside Lane and park behind a little grey BMW.

Departure: We kindly ask that you please vacate your room by 10:00 am on the day of departure.

Damages and Breakages: We charge for replacement or repairs of damage at cost. If we cannot use a room due to the damage, we will have to charge you for the room until the damage has been repaired and we can use the room again. Smoking or vaping in your room leads to an automatic £200.00 fine plus a charge for the room per night until traces of smoke have been eliminated.

Liability: We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Data: Any data gathered during the course of this booking may be held on the computer. It is not shared with a third party.

Turning off the lights when you leave your bedroom can help save energy. It can also help reduce carbon emissions and other harmful green house gasses .Hence ,turning off your lights is a simple way to help protect the environment and save the planet.
